With Dazzler achiving some sales success, Marvel decided to try again in 1991, this time following-through with the idea of using a real songstress performing in costume that they wanted to do with Dazzler.
In partnership with RCA Records, Marvel hired model/singer Jaqueline Tavarez to embody the character.
So campy but was it deliberate? "When her singing career failed, she lost the will to live!" "it was the music that killed her!"

DeleteHyperbolic prose is his style...but it did get out of hand later in his career.
